ACADEMICS
The CIB fulfills not only Colombian curriculum standards but also those of the International Baccalaureate in reaching our goal to educate “internationally competitive” young men and women. From preschool on, a variety of teaching strategies are used to promote research, emphasize cooperative study and approaches to learning designed to help them enjoy the process, while developing their independence, self-discipline and responsibility.
English is the main language used in instruction. Children start their immersion process at the age of four, with 90% of their classes in this language. They are taught and guided by highly qualified, bilingual and experienced teachers. In secondary students begin the study of French as a third language.
IB (INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE)
The CIB has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization, IBO for the IB Diploma program since 1993. This program offers one of the most outstanding preparations to enter and achieve excellent results in the best national and international universities. The curriculum develops talents and abilities to help students relate academic knowledge to real life.
Our mission and vision coincide not only with the IB Diploma Program but also with the philosophy of the IB Primary Years Program (PYP). Our Preschool, Primary and Middle Years curricula are founded on constructivism and pursue an experience-based learning process in academics as well as in values and the development of individual abilities. Our goal is to produce excellent citizens, highly committed with the environment and prepared in structured research processes. These programs foster the development of each individual’s potential.
